NEWSWORTHY! Reward our club by creating an account
Recently you would have received an email from Tennis Australia asking you to create an account. This is part of the “Tennis Connect” initiative which can earn the club much needed funds. Simply create an account (if you don’t already have one) and then nominate CLW as your primary place of play for tennis. Each member who completes this before the end of February will earn the club $5. This will also give you access to player results and a range of other services and information from Tennis Australia.
So please help the club by following the instructions in the email sent.
Thanks in anticipation of your support – Leigh Aitken – President

SEMI FINAL NEWS & RULES FROM SDTA Senior and Junior finals please:
Part of Rule 74 a) Nets shall be tied top and bottom and net straps shall be provided. Rule 84 In the major round the matches are to be played in reverse order: i.e. second double first, fourth single/fourth mixed double first.
Rule 88 Any major round match that results in a draw is to be decided by all male and female doubles playing tiebreaks. The team aggregating firstly the most tiebreaks or secondly the most points in these tiebreaks shall be the winner. If points are equal the match is to be decided by all doubles playing further braces of tiebreaks until a result is achieved.
To clarify the tie-breaks:
1. All junior grades including those grades that regularly play at 10.45am shall play tie-breaks to decide a tied match if that is the situation after the regular sets have nbeen completed.
2. The combinations for the tie-breaks are to be EXACTLY the same combinations as those that played each other earlier in the match. There shall be NO substitution in any situation.
3. Any players not present and ready to play the match tie-breaks within 5 minutes of the regular sets being completed shall forfeit. Matches shall NOT be held up to allow a player to return to the venue. Forfeits shall apply immediately in that situation.
4. When recording a match that has had match tie-breaks, please record the original scores which will show the drawn result. Put the details of the match tie-breaks and the result of the match into the Comments field at the bottom of the screen. I will ensure the correct team progresses in the finals draw.
As advised in my previous email – I am the Match Referee for all finals – please call me on 0422 004 570 for any clarification required.
Please ensure all teams are aware of the above and know how to contact me if required.
Regards, Darryl Buchanan
